He got the noble idea and motivation to help differently abled children from the difficulties his own sister faced in the field of education and self-development while growing up. In spite of a poor financial background, Ganesh took the training required for developing and nurturing differently abled children from Nashik city. Later he worked for a school of differently abled children where he gained much-required knowledge and experience. He then decided to dedicate his entire life to work for differently abled children who are deprived of education due to weak financial backgrounds and belong to poor industrial worker colonies. On further investigation, he found out that most of the special children were not being provided even basic education and much-needed care for self-development as their parents and even the society around was uneducated on handling and raising such special children. Also, due to weak financial backgrounds, the parents who were mostly industrial workers could not afford to send their children to special schools available in Nashik or other metro cities. The parents had to go to work to earn their daily livelihood and these special children in some cases 2 or more in a family were left unattended and alone in their homes. Ganesh realized that if these kids could get proper help and enroll them for special education programs especially designed for such differently abled children, they can grow up to become self-sufficient adults who can take care of themselves and their families. Ganesh studied all these possibilities in detail and initially found 10 special children from nearby industrial worker colonies. He started educating these children from one small room free of cost. Later, after gaining more experience and help from like-minded socially responsible people, he started the Shri Siddhi Vinayak Apang Punarvasan Sanstha in the year 2010. Currently, the special school run by this institution is managed at a temporary government structure called Samaj Mandir situated at Virat Nagar, Chunchale Goan. As on date, 45-60 special kids come to this school on a daily basis and depending upon their mental and/or physical abilities, special education curriculum is developed and training imparted to each one of them so that they develop into independent adults. We also impart occupational training to children that are 18 years and above in making paper bags, cloth bags, paper cups, spiral binding, floor mats, photo frames, lanterns, lamps, greeting cards, chocolates, and candles, etc. as per seasonal and festive requirements. This also helps them in understanding the future workplace environments. Thus, by imparting job-oriented trainings, we have rehabilitated many teenagers in hotels, shops & garages where they are successfully earning a livelihood and supporting themselves as well as their families financially. Other than these kids, there are approximately 15 kids who are severely multi-disabled or bedridden, therefore we provide them proper physiotherapy, guidance, and training at their residences.
